A Unique Experience in 3rd Period: Stepping Back in Time

Today in my third period class, I had the opportunity to engage in a truly fascinating activity that I wanted to share with all of you. Our teacher, known for his passion for history, often brings in replicas to help us experience the past firsthand.

I had the chance to don a German WWI uniform, which allowed me to immerse myself in the historical context we’ve been studying. Alongside the replicas, our teacher showcased an impressive collection of original artifacts from that era. One of the highlights was a delicate leather gas mask, which, while I opted not to wear due to its fragility, truly captured the essence of the period. Additionally, many of the bayonets were authentic, and he even had a classic Stahlhelm (German helmet) on display.

This experience not only deepened my appreciation for history but also allowed me to connect with the significant events that shaped our world.
