Are my EC’s good?

Are my extracurriculars strong enough?
I’m a freshman in high school and I’ve earned certifications in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, along with being a Microsoft Office Specialist. Do these accomplishments put me in a good position?

  1. It sounds like you’re off to a great start with your extracurricular activities (ECs)! Having certifications in Microsoft Office applications shows that you’re dedicated and have developed valuable skills that can set you apart. Here are a few thoughts on your situation:

    1. Relevance of ECs: Your certifications are relevant, especially if you’re interested in fields like business, finance, data analysis, or even education. They demonstrate proficiency in essential tools that many employers value.

    2. Variety: While your certifications are impressive, it might be beneficial to broaden your ECs to include a mix of activities. Consider joining clubs, sports, volunteering, or pursuing other interests like coding or graphic design. This can help you develop a well-rounded profile.

    3. Leadership and Impact: As you progress through high school, look for opportunities to take on leadership roles or create projects that showcase your skills. For example, organizing workshops to help peers learn Microsoft Office could demonstrate initiative and leadership.

    4. Future Goals: Think about your interests and future career aspirations. Try to align your ECs with those goals. For example, if you’re interested in technology, you might want to explore coding clubs or hackathons.

In summary, you’re on a solid path, but consider diversifying your experiences as you move through high school. Good luck!
