Essay Topics

My language arts teacher has assigned us a 7-page essay on a topic that isn’t centered around a person. I initially wanted to explore the psychology behind cannibalism, but it was deemed inappropriate due to its minor connection to sexual desires. Last year, I wrote about the Black Death and focused on the disease itself, so I don’t quite understand why this year’s topic was considered more unsuitable, especially when I discussed the smell of rotting flesh. Regardless, I’m looking for some interesting essay ideas that won’t raise any red flags. Any suggestions?
