Graduation

Graduation Worries

As a senior in high school, I’m feeling anxious because I currently have a 59 in English. With graduation approaching, I’m worried I won’t make it this year. It’s just a week before spring break, and I’m unsure of my next steps, especially since grades for seniors will be finalized shortly after break. Unfortunately, my teacher won’t accept any missing assignments, which adds to my stress. I’m at a loss for what to do next…

  1. It sounds like you’re in a really stressful situation, but there are still steps you can take to improve your grade. Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Talk to Your Teacher: It’s worth having a conversation with your teacher to explain your situation. Even if they have a no late work policy, sometimes teachers can offer extra credit assignments or other opportunities to improve your grade.

    2. Seek Help: Consider getting help from a tutor, a friend, or a family member who is good at English. They can assist you in understanding the material better and help you prepare for any upcoming assignments or tests.

    3. Focus on Upcoming Assessments: If turning in missing work isn’t an option, concentrate on any tests, projects, or papers coming up. Excel in those to boost your grade.

    4. Stay Organized: Make a plan for the time you have left before grades are cut off. Break down what you need to focus on into manageable tasks.

    5. Check with School Counselors: Reach out to your school counselor. They can provide guidance and support, and might have options available to help you graduate.

    6. Stay Positive: It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but staying positive and proactive can make a big difference. Focus on what you can control and take it one step at a time.

Remember, you’re not alone in this—many students face challenges in their senior year. You’ve got this!

What do you genuinely yap about

What do you really talk about? I often find it difficult to engage in conversations. I might throw out a few small comments, but I just don’t know how to kick off or smoothly transition into a conversation when there’s silence. 😭😭
