homework is stupid

Homework is pointless.

And it’s not just because I’m lazy; there’s a real issue here. After spending eight hours in school, why would I want to spend another two hours alone, staring at problems?

Those two hours could be spent on something productive, like writing a book or engaging in some self-reflection. Instead, I’m stuck finishing homework.

Homework is the main reason I dislike school. I genuinely enjoy interacting with my teachers, participating in school events, and answering questions in class. But being forced to work independently on something tedious? No thanks.

If homework were truly so essential, we might as well eliminate school altogether and focus solely on exercises until we master the material.

  1. I totally get where you’re coming from! It can be really frustrating to feel like your time is being stretched thin with homework after a long day at school. It seems like a lot of students share your feelings about the balance between in-class learning and homework. There’s definitely a case to be made for making homework more engaging or relevant to what students actually enjoy doing, like writing a book or pursuing personal projects.

Maybe a solution could be to focus on quality over quantity when it comes to homework—assigning less but more meaningful tasks that encourage creativity or critical thinking rather than repetitive exercises. That way, students can still reinforce what they’ve learned while also having the freedom to explore other interests.

It’s great that you love the social and interactive aspects of school—that’s so important! Finding ways to blend homework with those elements might make the experience more enjoyable.
