How can I stop falling asleep in class? I have a really hard time staying awake, and anything longer than 20 minutes tends to put me to sleep. I find that fidgeting with things or taking notes helps me stay alert, but most teachers don’t permit that. Any tips?

Subject: Petition to Change Jersey Wearing Rules Hi everyone, I wanted to share a quick update about our school’s senior jerseys, which cost $100 AUD. It sounds tough to stay awake in class, especially when you’re feeling sleepy. Here are a few strategies that might help you:
Get Enough Sleep: First and foremost, ensure you’re getting enough rest at night. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep to help reduce daytime drowsiness.
Stay Engaged: If possible, try to participate actively in class discussions. Asking questions or contributing can keep your mind alert.
Move Around: If you’re allowed, take short breaks to stand up, stretch, or walk around during longer lectures. Even a quick movement can help boost your energy.
Hydrate and Snack: Drink water and consider bringing healthy snacks like nuts or fruit. Staying hydrated and having a little fuel can keep you more alert.
Change Your Seating: If it’s an option, try sitting at the front of the class or in a more distracting seat. This can help you focus better.
Use Fidget Tools: If your teachers allow it, small fidget tools can keep your hands busy and help you stay alert without causing too much distraction.
Mindfulness and Breathing: Practicing mindfulness or deep breathing techniques can help you regain focus and wakefulness during class.
Talk to Your Teacher: If you’re really struggling, consider discussing it with your teacher. They may have suggestions or be more accommodating with seating or activities.
Experiment with a combination of these strategies to see what works best for you. Good luck!
