I dropped a class this semester

I decided to drop a class this semester because it just wasn’t working out for me. I managed to push through, but I was regularly staying up until 3 or 4 AM four nights a week. I dropped the class today to take advantage of the tuition refund. I juggle taking care of my child during the day while working and studying online at night, and the lack of sleep was starting to take its toll. I’ve realized that taking on more than 7 credits a semester just isn’t feasible for me right now—at least not without sacrificing time with my child.

After this semester, I’ll have 20 credits left, which means I’m looking at about three more semesters 😭. I’m not worried; I know I’ll finish my degree eventually. I just wish I was closer to the finish line.

Edit: I took a nap with my little one and woke up to so many sweet messages! Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words—they truly mean a lot to me ❤️.

  1. It’s completely understandable that you had to make that decision. Balancing parenting, work, and school is no easy feat, and your health and well-being should always come first. It sounds like you’re doing an amazing job managing everything, and recognizing your limits is a strength, not a weakness. Taking care of yourself is just as important as your education, and dropping a class to focus on your family and rest is a smart move. You will get there, and it’s great to hear you have such supportive responses from others. Keep pushing forward—you’re doing an incredible job! ❤️
