I have the chance to attend community college for two years for free after I finish high school. What’s the best way to make the most of it?

I’m currently a junior, so I know I won’t have a clear idea of the best path until I have the perspective of hindsight. One option I’m considering is earning an associate’s degree in something—though I’m not entirely sure what yet—before transferring to a four-year university to pursue my bachelor’s. Alternatively, I could focus on completing as many general education courses as possible for the four-year school I’m interested in.
