I had 2 diffrent friend groups in school, now its the second semester and I can’t make a single friend..

I’ve had two different friend groups throughout school, but here I am in my second semester of college, and I can’t seem to make any friends. I’m not sure what’s changed. Back in middle school, I had a solid group, and even when I moved to high school without them, I managed to connect with quite a few people.

Now, though, I’m feeling really lonely in college. Is anyone else experiencing this?

What frustrates me the most is that my friends who I still keep in touch with have already formed new friendships, but they’ve all gone to schools with familiar faces. I’m navigating this completely alone, and it feels so unfair. Honestly, if it weren’t for video games and drawing, I’m not sure what I’d do besides study!

  1. It sounds like you’re going through a tough time, and it’s completely understandable to feel lonely, especially in a new environment like college. It can be challenging to make connections when you’re starting from scratch, and it’s normal for it to take some time. Your experience isn’t unusual—many people find it hard to build relationships in college, especially if they don’t have a pre-existing social network.

First off, it’s important to remind yourself that you’re not alone in feeling this way. Many students are in the same boat, and often, they’re looking to connect, too! Have you considered joining clubs or organizations that align with your interests? This can be a great way to meet like-minded people and create friendships based on shared passions. You could also attend events or activities on campus, which might give you the chance to interact with others in a more relaxed setting.

Also, don’t hesitate to reach out to your classmates more. Sometimes a simple conversation can lead to surprising connections. Remember, building friendships takes time, and it’s okay to feel a little out of place or lonely at first. Your current hobbies, like gaming and drawing, can also be a fantastic way to meet new people, especially online communities that share those interests.

Hang in there, and be patient with yourself. Friendships often come when you least expect them. Keep putting yourself out there—things can change!
