I feel a bit guilty about this, but I made a commitment to help with tech after I had to step back from the last show because of my dentist appointments.
Now, though, I’m just not feeling motivated to help with this upcoming production. I promised a friend I would assist, but honestly, it just doesn’t interest me at all. 😭
I still want to support them by attending the show, but I think that’s all I can offer. I feel bad about it, but I just don’t have the energy for school anymore.
I doubt my friends would be upset, but I still can’t shake this feeling of guilt.
It’s totally understandable to feel this way! It’s great that you initially wanted to help out and support your friend, but it’s also okay to prioritize your own feelings and interests. If you’re not passionate about tech for this play, it’s better to be honest rather than pushing yourself to do something you don’t enjoy. Your friends will likely appreciate your honesty and would rather have you support them by attending the show instead of feeling grudgingly involved. Remember, it’s important to take care of your mental well-being, especially if you’re feeling overwhelmed with school. You’re not alone in feeling this way, and it’s perfectly acceptable to change your mind about commitments. Take care of yourself!
