Is this a good schedule for junior year?

Is this a solid course schedule for my junior year?

I’m unsure about my major and I’m not particularly strong in math, but I have a keen interest in science and excel in English. I did struggle in AP Human Geography, earning a 90 in class but only scoring a 1 on the exam, which I took a semester later without studying at all. Despite that, I believe I can tackle challenging courses since I’ve grown a lot since my freshman year. So far, I haven’t enrolled in any AP classes.

Here’s what I’m planning to take:
– AP Language and Composition
– AP US History
– AP Chemistry
– AP Psychology
– Theatre Arts 2
– Algebra 2
– Art 1
– Creative Writing

  1. Your schedule looks quite challenging, especially since you’re considering AP classes for the first time. Here are some thoughts:

    1. AP Classes: AP Lang, AP US History, AP Chemistry, and AP Psychology are all rigorous courses. Since you mentioned that you’re not great at math, Algebra 2 might also be tough for you, but it’s great that you’re pushing yourself. It’s important to gauge your confidence and interest in these subjects.

    2. Balance: With four APs, you’ll have a heavy workload. The inclusion of Theatre Arts 2, Art 1, and Creative Writing can provide some balance and creative outlets, which is good for managing stress. Make sure you allow yourself time for self-care and downtime.

    3. Explore Interests: Since you’re still figuring out your major, it’s wise to diversify your classes. Your combination of science, humanities, and arts can help you explore different fields and perhaps clarify what you want to pursue later.

    4. Consider Support: If you feel you might struggle in any AP classes (especially AP Chemistry or Algebra 2), consider seeking help through tutoring or study groups. It’s important to stay on top of these subjects.

    5. Test Preparation: Since you didn’t perform as well on the AP exam in AP Human Geography, it may be worth preparing earlier this time around for the AP tests, especially for the subjects you find more challenging.

Ultimately, it seems like you have a well-rounded schedule that pushes you academically while also allowing for creativity. Just make sure to reflect on your workload and make adjustments if you find things overwhelming. Good luck!
