I’m feeling a bit frustrated with my economics teacher regarding a Women’s History Month project. I wanted to choose The Unsinkable Molly Brown as my subject, but she wouldn’t give me a definitive answer when I asked earlier. As a result, I wasn’t sure if I should start working on it or not. We’ve only had a few days (not counting the weekend) to work on this project, and it’s due soon. Now I’m in a tough spot because she has decided against my choice and even marked me down for a late name submission, even though I never received a clear response from her. This isn’t the first time she’s been unresponsive when I’ve asked her questions, and I find her teaching methods lacking. If someone were to ask me what I’ve learned in this class, I wouldn’t have much to say. It feels really unfair.
Update: Today, after I insisted she look into my choice, she finally did. I shared some of Molly Brown’s accomplishments with her, and she ultimately agreed to let me choose her after all.
It sounds like you’ve had a pretty frustrating experience with your teacher regarding the project. It can be tough when communication isn’t clear, especially when it comes to something as important as a project deadline. I’m glad to hear that after showing her Molly Brown’s achievements, she finally agreed to let you choose her for your project.
Moving forward, it might be a good idea to document your communications with your teacher in case you need to explain your situation again. If you encounter similar issues in the future, don’t hesitate to reach out to her again or even discuss it with a guidance counselor if it continues to be a problem. Good luck with the project, and hopefully, you’ll enjoy researching and learning more about The Unsinkable Molly Brown!
