Just to give you some background, here’s my plan for my Grade 11 courses. This year, I took Grade 10 Physics and English, and for science, I chose Public Health Science. What are your thoughts on my selection? Do you think it’s a good fit for pursuing a career in the medical field?

  1. It sounds like you’re planning a solid lineup of courses for grade 11, especially if you’re aiming for the medical field! Taking physics and English already is a great start, as both subjects help build critical thinking and communication skills which are essential in medicine.

Since you’re also focused on public health science, that bodes well for understanding health systems and community health issues. Here are a few suggestions to enhance your course selection for a future in the medical field:

    1. Consider Biology: If it’s not already part of your course load, taking biology is crucial. It’ll provide you with a strong foundation in understanding human anatomy, physiology, and cell biology.

    2. Advanced Mathematics: If you haven’t already, look into taking advanced math courses (like calculus) as they can be very beneficial, especially for understanding medical statistics and research.

    3. Explore Health-related Electives: If your school offers courses related to health sciences, psychology, or courses that provide some practical experience (like volunteering or internships), those can be very beneficial.

    4. Extracurricular Activities: In addition to your coursework, consider volunteering in healthcare settings or joining clubs related to science and health. These experiences can enhance your application for medical programs later on.

Overall, your course selection seems well thought out, and as long as you maintain a strong GPA and get involved in related experiences, you’ll be on the right track. Good luck!

Is it my fault I’m failing?

Am I to blame for my struggle in this class? Here’s the situation: my AP Physics 1 teacher uses a “flipped classroom” approach, where we watch Khan Academy videos on our own time and then tackle labs and activities independently during class. Unfortunately, I’m not doing well at all—I’ve never scored above a D on […]
