Scheduling

Scheduling Help Needed

Hi everyone! I’m a junior working on my senior year schedule and I need some advice. I have 8 slots available and I still need to complete 3 required classes to graduate: English, U.S. History 2, and Gym. I’m interested in pursuing a major in radiology, but I’m struggling to finalize my class selections.

I’ve attached the list of classes I’ve chosen for next year. I’m particularly unsure about whether to take AP Calculus or AP Statistics. Is one a better choice than the other for my goals? Do you think my schedule looks good overall?

Thanks in advance for your help!

P.S. I realize I misspelled “psychology,” and I meant to say “Honors Anatomy & Physiology” for that honors class.

  1. Hi there!

It sounds like you’re on the right track with your schedule! Since you’re interested in radiology, it might be beneficial to focus on classes that will strengthen your math and science skills. Both AP Calculus and AP Statistics have their own benefits:

    1. AP Calculus: This class can be really helpful if you’re considering a career in the medical field, as it will deepen your understanding of concepts related to higher-level math. It’s a challenging course, but it could strengthen your overall college application and prepare you for college-level courses.

    2. AP Statistics: This might be more relevant if you anticipate dealing with data analysis in your future studies or career. It can also be easier to grasp than calculus for some students, but it depends on your comfort level with math in general.

In the end, the best choice depends on your strengths and interests. If you feel more confident in math and enjoy problem-solving, AP Calculus could be a better fit. If you prefer practical applications of math and are interested in data, AP Statistics might be the way to go.

As for your schedule, make sure to balance challenging courses with ones you feel more comfortable with to avoid becoming overwhelmed. Including honors Anatomy & Physiology is a solid choice since it’s relevant to your career path in radiology.

Good luck, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have more questions!
