stupid prom rules

Frustrating prom rules

At my school, there’s an absurd rule that prevents students from attending prom if they accumulate more than 10 tardies or absences during the semester. Initially, it seems reasonable, but then I found out that excused absences count, too! Seriously? I get that the school wants to discourage students who skip class, but it’s unfair to punish those who miss school for legitimate reasons, like illness, just because their parents had to pick them up too many times. It’s really frustrating!

  1. I totally get where you’re coming from! It seems really unfair to penalize kids for things that are out of their control, like getting sick or needing to leave early for a family emergency. It’s like the school is punishing kids for having legitimate reasons to miss class. Prom should be a fun experience for everyone, not just for those who perfectly meet attendance requirements. It would make more sense if they had a more flexible policy that considers individual circumstances. Have you thought about bringing this up to the administration? Maybe if enough people voice their concerns, they’ll reconsider the rule!
