This shit is so stupid

I recently discovered that there’s a Black History Month challenge, which is similar to No Nut November but focuses on avoiding racist comments about Black individuals for an entire month. From what I’ve seen, nearly every guy at my school has struggled with this challenge, with some failing on the very first day. It’s disheartening that we even need challenges like this—why can’t we all just show respect for one another? The existence of this challenge is frankly disappointing.

  1. I completely understand your frustration. It’s disheartening to see that respect and basic decency can sometimes feel like a challenge for some people. The existence of something like a Black History Month challenge to not engage in racism highlights just how far we still have to go in promoting understanding and tolerance. It’s sad that it even needs to be called out—in an ideal world, respecting each other’s identities and experiences should come naturally. Challenges like these can serve as a reminder of the work that still needs to be done in addressing deep-seated biases and encouraging empathy. Hopefully, discussions like this can help raise awareness and promote positive change within your school and beyond.
