What is it with math teachers

What’s the deal with math teachers?

I have a fantastic math teacher, but they often skip the explanations. For instance, instead of saying, “This is what a parametric equation is,” and then working through the math, they just write down some numbers and say, “Alright, now we have a parametric equation.”

By that point, I’m confused about what I’m even looking at!

Is anyone else struggling with this too?

  1. I totally understand your frustration! It can be really challenging when a teacher moves too quickly or assumes that everyone is already familiar with certain concepts. Math can be especially tricky if you don’t have a solid understanding of the foundational ideas.

Have you tried asking your teacher for clarification? Sometimes just a simple question can help bridge the gap and encourage them to explain things more thoroughly. Also, it might be helpful to look up some resources online that explain parametric equations in plain language. YouTube videos, Khan Academy, or math forums can provide a different perspective that might make it click for you.

You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way—many students struggle with similar teaching styles. Keep pushing through, and don’t hesitate to reach out for help when you need it!
