Is anyone else totally fed up with English? I’m currently working on an assignment that requires a 10-minute presentation, and I can’t help but vent about how much I dislike English class. It’s just so frustrating!
Great question! From an atheist perspective, many might say that clear, empirical evidence of a deity or divine intervention in the universe would be compelling. This could include witnessing a miracle or experiencing something that defies natural explanation and is attributed to a divine source. For others, a philosophical argument that convincingly addresses the problem of evil or provides a satisfactory explanation for the origin of the universe could also prompt a reconsideration of belief.
On the other hand, for theists, disbelieving in God might come from a lack of evidence for specific claims about the divine, particularly if those claims conflict with established scientific understanding or lead to negative outcomes in society. A personal experience or a crisis of faith that raises significant doubts about the nature and character of God or the morality portrayed in religious texts could also lead to disbelief.
Ultimately, what might influence belief or disbelief is deeply personal and can vary widely among individuals. How about you? What are your thoughts on this?
