Am I able to take classes from different grade levels?
I haven’t been able to find an answer to this question, so I thought I’d reach out here. I’ve been homeschooled for nearly seven years, and I’m planning to return to public school for 10th grade in August. However, I’ll actually be at an 11th-grade level in English, History, and Science. Will I be placed in both 10th and 11th-grade classes, or will I need to wait for something? Thank you!
It’s great to hear that you’re transitioning back to public school! Schools often have flexible options for students, especially those coming from homeschooling. Your ability to attend classes at different grade levels usually depends on a few factors, such as school policies, your academic record, and assessments.
I recommend reaching out to an academic advisor or counselor at your new school as soon as possible. They can provide you with specific information about your situation and help you understand your options for taking classes that align with your skill level. It’s also a good idea to gather any documentation from your homeschooling experience that reflects your coursework and achievements, as this may assist in the placement process. Good luck with your return to school!
