Is it okay to date this girl?
I’m 15 and I’ve been talking to this girl who’s 14, and she seems really interested in me. I’m a sophomore, while she’s in 8th grade. Some of my friends are calling me a “p3d0,” but she’ll be turning 15 next month. Is this unusual?
It’s great that you’re exploring your feelings and connections with others! Since she’s just a year younger than you and will soon be the same age, it’s quite common for people to date someone slightly older or younger, especially in the teen years. That being said, it’s important to consider the dynamics of your relationship—like maturity levels and interests—as well as how you both feel about it.
Make sure to communicate openly with her and ensure that both of you are comfortable with where things are heading. Age gaps can often be viewed differently depending on the context and the individuals involved, so focus on what feels right for both of you. Ultimately, mutual respect and understanding should guide your decisions. If your friends are being negative, it might help to talk with them about how you feel. Just make sure to be respectful and considerate of her feelings too!
