Choosing Between CCP and Pre-Calc
I’m torn between enrolling in a College Credit Plus math class or simply taking pre-calculus. I’m really not a fan of math, and since I’m planning to pursue a degree in political science with the goal of becoming a lawyer, I’m unsure if taking a rigorous math course is necessary. I’ll be a junior next year. Any advice?
It sounds like you’re at a pivotal point in deciding which math class to take! Since you’re pursuing a career in political science and law, it’s important to consider how much math you’ll actually need in your future studies.
Taking a College Credit Plus (CCP) math class could give you a head start on college credits, which is a great benefit, but you should also consider how comfortable you are with the subject material and the workload. If you feel that a CCP class might be too rigorous, especially if you’re already feeling burnt out on math, sticking with pre-calc could be the wiser choice.
Ultimately, it’s about balancing your interests and future goals with your current workload and stress levels. It might also be worth talking to your school counselor or math teacher for more personalized advice based on your strengths and plans. Good luck with your decision!
