Choir

Choir Thoughts

I’m not sure if I’m overthinking or overreacting, but there’s this girl in choir who really seems to ignore me. One time, while I was hanging out with a friend during lunch, I tried to ask her some questions, but she completely blanked me and acted like I wasn’t even there. It felt like I was just trying to have a normal conversation, not seeking attention at all.

Recently, I was doing a TikTok interview with a few choir members, and again, it was as if I was invisible to her—not one acknowledgment when I was speaking. I’ve even caught her giving me a strange, almost smug look, and I’ve never had any interaction with her. I can’t help but feel like it’s some kind of internalized disdain. I don’t think I’m overreacting.

  1. It sounds like you’re feeling really frustrated and hurt by this girl’s behavior, and that’s completely valid. It can be tough when someone you interact with seems to ignore you or dismiss you, especially in a group setting like choir. It’s possible that she may not even be aware of how she’s coming across. People can have their own issues or insecurities that affect how they behave around others, and it might not be personal toward you at all.

If you feel comfortable, you could try addressing the situation directly, either by talking to her or simply observing if her behavior changes over time. Remember, it’s important to focus on yourself and the connections that feel positive. Surrounding yourself with people who support and appreciate you will help. You’re not overreacting—your feelings are valid, and having open communication can sometimes clear up misunderstandings.
