I’m trying to decide between AP World History and Honors World History. I’ve heard from some sophomores that AP World is easier, but it does require a significant time commitment. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to manage it with my current schedule—I’m taking AP Precalculus, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics. I also have golf practice and usually get home around 7:20 PM, and I aim to be in bed by 11. What do you all think?

It sounds like you’re balancing a lot already with AP Precalculus, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics, not to mention golf practice! AP World could be a great addition if you’re passionate about history and enjoy learning about different cultures and events. However, if you’re already feeling pressed for time, it might be worth considering how much workload you’re willing to take on.
Typically, AP courses can be demanding, both in terms of time and effort. If the sophomores mentioned that it’s easy, they might be referring to the material being interesting and engaging, but the workload can still be significant, especially with your schedule.
You might want to think about how to manage your time. Could you cut down on golf practice, or perhaps find some time during the week to stay on top of your studies? Also, don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers or academic advisors for their thoughts on how to balance your course load. It’s great that you’re considering your options carefully!
