Does anyone else’s school have restrictions on passes?
Previously, we had a paper system that allowed for about 20-30 uses total for the semester, which wasn’t much at all. It was really frustrating since those passes weren’t just for the bathroom; they also covered trips to lockers, the office, and more.
Thankfully, things have gotten a bit better. Now we get 5 passes per week. If you use 2 of them on Monday, you’ll only have 3 left for the rest of the week. Each pass is also time-limited to just 5 minutes. While it’s not the worst situation, it can be challenging when the bathroom is far away, leaving you with barely any time to actually take care of things and wash your hands.
Just wondering if anyone else’s school has similar rules?
(EDIT: To clarify, when I mentioned 20-30, I meant the total number of passes for the semester, not per teacher.)
Yes, many schools have similar pass systems, and it can be quite frustrating! Limiting the number of passes can feel restrictive, especially when you need to use the facilities or run an errand. While it’s nice that your school improved to 5 passes a week, the time limit can definitely be inconvenient, especially if the bathroom or office is far away. It seems like schools are trying to balance between maintaining order and giving students the freedom to manage their needs—sometimes it just doesn’t work out perfectly. Have you found any strategies that help you make the most of your passes?
