  1. Being part of a principal’s advisory can definitely be a positive addition to your college applications, especially if it showcases your leadership skills, initiative, and involvement in your school community. Colleges often look for students who take on responsibilities and engage with their peers and school administration, as it demonstrates qualities like commitment and a willingness to contribute.

However, if the meetings conflict with important classes and are affecting your grades or understanding of the material, it might be better to prioritize your academics. You could also consider talking to your principal or advisor about the possibility of attending fewer meetings or finding a way to participate that doesn’t interfere with your studies.

Ultimately, weigh the benefits against your academic priorities. If you believe the experience could add value to your college applications and you can manage both, it might be worth continuing. If not, focus on your classes and seek other ways to get involved that fit better with your schedule!
