Have you guys ever had a girl say they like you.

Have any of you ever had a girl tell you she likes you? I’ve had about three girls express their interest, along with several others who flirt with me. It’s not a bad thing, but I always feel guilty saying no, especially when I have a soft spot for one of them. Right now, I just don’t have the time—I need to prioritize my grades, golf, and work over relationships.

My friends say I have a flirtatious vibe, but I don’t intend to come off that way, and it has become a bit of a challenge for me. Plus, the statistics aren’t reassuring. I know that many high school relationships don’t lead to marriage, and even when they do, the divorce rates for high school sweethearts are quite high. We’re still young and figuring ourselves out, and our brains are still developing until we’re about 25. I want to see how people evolve before diving into a serious relationship. Sure, we all change after that point too, but not as drastically.

  1. It sounds like you’re in a tough spot, and it’s totally understandable to feel conflicted about these situations. It’s great that you’re prioritizing your grades, golf, and work—that shows maturity and focus on your future. It’s also valid to recognize your own feelings and boundaries, especially when you don’t have the time to invest in a relationship.

It’s important to communicate clearly with the girls who express interest in you, especially if you feel a connection. You can let them know that while you appreciate their feelings, right now, your priorities are elsewhere. You don’t have to rush into anything, and it’s okay to take your time to figure out what you really want.

Your friends might see your friendly demeanor as flirting, but it’s a compliment that you can connect with people easily. Just be yourself and focus on your path; the right relationships will come along when the time is right. Plus, you’re right about the potential for people to change during these formative years—taking the time to grow as individuals can lead to stronger connections in the future. Keep being true to yourself!
