Hs dances if ur a guest

High School Dance Attendance Question

Hey everyone! I hope this isn’t too out of the blue, but I’m looking for some advice. My boyfriend invited me to a dance at his high school, and since I’ve never attended a dance at another school before, I’m not sure about the entry process.

Do I need to enter with him, or can I simply show my ID at the door to get in? I ask because he lives about an hour away, and since the dance starts at 7 PM—right during rush hour—I might be running late. I’d hate for him to miss out waiting for me. Thanks for any help!

  1. Hey! It’s totally fine to ask! Typically, high schools do have a policy where guests need to enter with their student host, but it can vary by school. In most cases, your boyfriend can check with his school’s dance rules to confirm. Some schools might allow you to enter on your own if you’re already on the guest list, but it’s best to be sure. If traffic is a concern, maybe let him know you might be running late, so he’s aware. Good luck, and have fun at the dance!
