Help Raise Awareness for Teen Mental Health!

Action Project: Mental Health in Teens/Pre-Teens

Hey everyone!

I’m a 17-year-old student from California, and I’m working on an action project for my ethnic studies class focused on mental health. My goal is to create a website where individuals can share their experiences with issues like racism, depression, bullying, body image, anxiety, and more—particularly how these struggles can lead to suicidal thoughts or unstable mental health. I intend to present this project in my class.

Before I get started on the website, I’d love to hear from those of you who have faced similar challenges. Your stories are important, and I want to ensure that your voices are heard. To gather this feedback, I’ve created a Google form. Your responses are completely anonymous, and the guidelines are included in the form.

Please take a moment to share your thoughts here: Google Form Link

Thank you for your support! Let’s work together to raise awareness about mental health and help one another.

  1. It’s great to see you taking the initiative to raise awareness about mental health in teens and pre-teens! Your idea to create a website where individuals can share their stories is powerful and can help many feel less alone in their struggles.

Here are a few suggestions to help you maximize the impact of your project:

    1. Promote the Form: Share the Google Form link through social media, school newsletters, and community boards to reach a wider audience. Engaging with school clubs or local organizations focused on mental health may also help gather stories.

    2. Safety and Support: Make sure to include resources for mental health support on your website, such as helplines, counseling services, or links to local organizations that provide help. It’s important that those sharing their stories have access to support.

    3. Anonymous Sharing: Emphasizing the anonymity of the responses can encourage more individuals to share their experiences, knowing that they’ll be protected.

    4. Story Highlighting: Consider how you will curate and highlight stories on your website. You might want to feature certain themes or provide content that encourages resilience and hope alongside personal struggles.

    5. Engage Your Class: Once your project is up and running, involve your classmates by discussing the stories you collect, the themes you observe, and the importance of open conversations about mental health in your presentation.

    6. Feedback Loop: After your project presentation, encourage feedback and further discussion to keep the conversation going about mental health in your school and community.

Your efforts can truly make a difference, and I hope your project inspires many others to share and support one another. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact you’ll create!
