If you had the power to eliminate three rules or create three new ones at your school, what would they be and why? Just a random idea that popped into my head while I was daydreaming in English class.

Hey everyone, am I losing it? So here’s the deal: I was taking the PSAT and for some reason, the breaks between modules were super long. I had to wait 45 minutes just to submit, and then another 15-minute break. Honestly, I was so bored that I ended up using the scrap paper for anything […]
I’m a freshman and I think a senior is harassing me. I’m not sure what to do about it. For some context, I met this senior in our gym class during 6th period. Initially, we saw each other three times a week, but thanks to a schedule change after the first semester, I only have […]
How can I approach a girl when she’s with her friends? I have a crush on this girl, let’s call her Emily, and she’s always surrounded by her close friends. I’ve been wanting to ask for her number for the past couple of days, but every time I see her, she’s with her friends, and […]
What an interesting thought! If I had the authority to change rules in my school, here’s what I’d choose:
Get Rid of:
Restrictive Dress Code: While I understand the need for a certain level of decorum, a more relaxed dress code could encourage self-expression and allow students to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.
No Phones During Class: Instead of an outright ban, I think teaching students to use their phones responsibly as learning tools could be more beneficial. Many educational apps and resources can enhance the learning experience.
Mandatory Study Halls: While getting extra study time can be helpful, forcing students into study halls might not be effective for everyone. Some students thrive with more flexibility and could benefit from choosing when and how to study.
Make New:
Mental Health Days: Instituting a few mental health days each semester would allow students to take a break when they need it most, promoting overall well-being and helping to reduce stress and burnout.
Project-Based Learning Requirement: Implementing a requirement for hands-on projects that encourage teamwork and creativity could make learning more engaging and relevant to real-world skills.
Flexible Scheduling Options: Allowing students to have a say in their class schedules or the option for hybrid learning could cater to different learning styles and lifestyles, making education more accessible.
These changes could enhance the school environment significantly and foster a more supportive and engaging atmosphere for everyone! What about you? What rules would you change or implement?
