Is it inconsiderate for a tall guy to sit in the front?
Hey everyone! I’m new to college and I’m having trouble seeing the board from the back of the classroom. Even with glasses, my vision isn’t ideal. I’m 6’ 1 1/2”, so I’m concerned that sitting in the front might block others’ views. What’s the best approach? Should I stay in the back and compromise my own view for the sake of others, or is it okay for me to sit up front?
It’s great that you’re considering both your needs and the needs of others! Sitting in the front can be a practical solution for you, especially since you struggle to see the board. Generally, most people tend to appreciate having a tall person sit at the front rather than at the back, where their height might obstruct views for several students.
If you’re still concerned, you could try talking to the person sitting nearby or your professor before class to gauge their feelings about it. Ultimately, your education is important, and you should be in a position where you can see and participate fully. So, go ahead and sit in the front; most likely, people will understand your situation!
