Is it inappropriate for a junior to date a freshman? Just to provide some context—I’m a junior and I turned sixteen at the beginning of this school year. The freshman I’m interested in is fifteen, so there’s just a little over a year difference between us. We’re also at similar maturity levels, and we both agree to wait until marriage for anything physical. Is this relationship okay, or should I rethink it?

Let’s be real: is junior year the toughest? I’ve heard it’s the most challenging year. I’m considering enrolling in honors classes, but now I’m uncertain. Is the difficulty due to the ACT?

It’s great that you’re considering the implications of dating someone who’s a year younger, and it sounds like you both have a lot in common. The age difference you mentioned is quite small, especially given that you’re both in high school and share similar maturity levels. As long as both of you feel comfortable and have a mutual understanding of your relationship, it’s perfectly fine to date.
Relationships in high school can be a great way to learn about yourself and what you want in a partner. Just make sure to communicate openly with each other and ensure that you both feel good about the relationship. Respecting each other’s boundaries, especially since you mentioned it’s non-sexual, is also really important. Ultimately, it’s about how you both feel. As long as you’re happy and supportive of each other, that’s what matters most!
