I’ll keep this brief. My History teacher has labeled two of my recent essays as 50% and 67% AI-generated, marking both as zeros and dropping my grade to an F. I want to clarify that I did not use AI for either essay. I researched additional information beyond the provided sources, which is something I typically do to ensure my work is accurate. I also tend to use a more advanced vocabulary since I read a lot and often look up synonyms to diversify my language.

I thought my teacher wouldn’t question my credibility, especially since I’ve submitted several essays throughout the year in a similar style. Now, I’m struggling to prove that I didn’t use AI. I checked the version history of both essays, but since I wrote them in one sitting, the only changes recorded are reworded sentences that I wasn’t satisfied with.

I’m feeling incredibly anxious about this situation and really don’t know how to demonstrate my innocence. Additionally, I have had some past conflicts with this teacher—he once accused me of being racist in a cafeteria when I was simply reading Gone With the Wind. This year he hasn’t shown any animosity toward me, so I’m unsure how he truly feels.
