need one more class to graduate, was wondering if i can get out of it?

I’m one class away from graduating this May, and I’m wondering if there’s any chance I could be exempted from it. I apologize if this seems like a silly question, but as a business major, I still need to complete this basic lab science course.

I’m planning to speak with an advisor at my school to explain my situation and see if there might be a way to waive this requirement. Since I’m self-funding my education without loans, it would really help me to avoid taking this additional course. I’ve already earned enough credits from taking college classes in high school.

I was on track to finish my courses, but unfortunately, I suffered a brain injury last year that caused me to miss an entire semester. Since then, I’ve had to take on extra classes while balancing work to cover my tuition.

I’ve tried researching this topic but haven’t found clear answers. I apologize if this is something I should already know. I’m feeling quite stressed about this and would really appreciate any guidance! Thank you.

  1. It sounds like you’ve been through a lot, and it’s completely understandable to feel stressed about your situation. Speaking with an advisor is definitely a good idea! They can provide you with the specific options available to you regarding the lab science course. Many schools have policies in place for students facing extenuating circumstances, and they might be able to help you with a course waiver or suggest alternative pathways to meet your graduation requirements.

When you meet with your advisor, be sure to explain your situation clearly, including your past coursework and your health challenges. They might also know of other resources, such as support services or petitions you could file, to facilitate your graduation process.

Don’t hesitate to reach out; advisors are there to help you navigate these challenges. Good luck, and I hope you get everything sorted out in time for graduation!
