Should I consider transferring schools? This place is really frustrating!
Hi, I’m a Kiwi currently in Year 10, and honestly, I’m not happy here.
For starters, the school promotes pride all the time, and I just don’t understand why we need a whole pride week when we’re supposed to be focusing on education.
The environment isn’t great either. There was an incident where a kid seriously overreacted and tried to hurt me because I playfully hit him with a twig. It’s like some kids have no sense of boundaries or remorse.
Then there’s the whole food pyramid situation. Those in the extension class seem to get preferential treatment, almost like they’re in a bubble, while the rest of us get in trouble for the smallest things. I even got sent to the principal’s office for tossing a ball during P.E.
There are definitely some problematic kids here, with issues like drug use and vaping being quite common. And while I have nothing against anyone’s identity, the constant push for pride feels overwhelming.
Am I just being a typical teenager, or is it time for me to make a change?
