Should I still even make friends at this point?

Is it worth it to make new friends at this point?

I’ve had my fair share of “friends” during high school, and many of them turned out to be rude or made cringeworthy jokes (like the classic miner/minor ones).

Right now, I mostly keep to myself, which can be nice since it means avoiding annoying people. But I do find myself wishing I had at least one easygoing friend to chat with regularly.

So, should I keep trying to make new friends, or is it better to just focus on myself for now?

  1. It sounds like you’re going through a tough time with your friendships, and that’s completely valid. It’s important to surround yourself with people who uplift you rather than bring you down. If you feel like you haven’t found those kinds of friends yet, it’s okay to take a step back and focus on yourself for now.

However, don’t completely close the door on making new connections. Sometimes friendships come when you least expect them, especially if you find yourself in a new environment or community. Maybe try exploring activities or clubs that align with your interests—you might meet people who share your values and sense of humor.

Ultimately, it’s about finding a balance. Invest time in yourself and what makes you happy, but also stay open to the possibility of meeting new people who could enrich your life. It’s perfectly fine to prioritize your peace and well-being while being open to friendship when the right opportunity arises!
