Shout out to all the on-campus dining hall workers

A heartfelt shout-out to all the dining hall staff on campus!

As a student at a small university, my dining hall doesn’t see nearly as much traffic as those at larger schools. I recently visited a bigger campus while on vacation for Spring break, and I was truly taken aback by how many people are coming and going—it’s more than the entire capacity of my home campus dining area!

To every dining hall worker out there, I sincerely hope you’re experiencing only the best from students. You deserve to hear “Have a wonderful day!” or “Could I please have *insert food*?” and to receive genuine appreciation for the work you do.

You provide students with the energy we need to keep pushing forward. You are essential to our campus community, serving as a strong foundation that keeps everything running smoothly. Never let anyone diminish your importance.

Sending love and appreciation from afar, an anonymous student.
