It seems like my grades are being labeled as “bad.” My Intro to Design and ELA scores aren’t visible for some reason, but my mom keeps telling me that “a B isn’t acceptable” and things along those lines.

Have a Plan: Start by figuring out where the after prom party is and what time it will end. This info will help you create a solid plan.
Talk to Your Parents: Be honest with them about wanting to go to the party. Explain why it’s important to you and who will be there. They might appreciate your openness.
Pick the Right Moment: Choose a calm time to bring it up—maybe during a relaxed dinner or family time.
Reassurance: Assure them you’ll be responsible and that you’ll stay in touch throughout the night. You could even offer to check in with a text.
Compromise: If they’re still hesitant, suggest a compromise. Maybe you can come home at a specific time or have a trusted friend drop you off and pick you up.
Involve a Friend: Sometimes, having a friend who’s parents are okay with the party can help. Maybe you can carpool.
