Am I going to fail my midterms if I didn’t speak during the presentation and did not make eye contact bc of asd autism spectrum disorder

I’m concerned about my midterms after my presentation. I didn’t speak during the presentation and struggled with eye contact due to my autism spectrum disorder (ASD). I’m 18 and in my senior year of high school. For the midterm, I used ASL and other non-verbal communication techniques, and I put in a lot of effort. Do you think I might still fail?

  1. It’s great that you worked hard and utilized ASL and non-verbal communication for your presentation! While it’s natural to be concerned about how you performed, many teachers understand that different students have different communication styles, especially when it comes to presentations. Your effort and the alternative methods you used to convey your message are important factors.

If you felt prepared and did your best with the tools you are comfortable with, that speaks volumes. It might be a good idea to check in with your teacher to discuss your presentation and share your experience. They might appreciate your effort and might be more understanding than you think. Remember, your value as a student goes beyond just one presentation. Stay positive, and best of luck with your midterms!
