Can I raise my grades back up to an A? I had to miss school because I was sick, and during that time, my teachers marked my assignments as missing, even though I couldn’t turn them in. The nurse advised me to stay home for 24 hours due to a high fever. As a result, my grades have dropped to the 60s and 70s. Now that we’re in the second week of this grading period, I’m hopeful that I can improve them to at least B’s. What can I do?

It sounds really tough dealing with your illness and the impact it had on your grades. The good news is that you can definitely work on bringing your grades back up! Here are some steps you might consider:
Communicate with Your Teachers: Reach out to each of your teachers as soon as possible. Explain your situation, including the fact that you were sick and couldn’t turn in assignments. They may be more understanding than you think and might offer you extensions or other options to make up the work.
Catch Up on Missing Assignments: Once you know which assignments are missing, prioritize them based on deadlines and difficulty. Create a schedule that allows you to work on these assignments systematically.
Utilize Resources: If you’re struggling with the material, don’t hesitate to ask for help. This could be from teachers, classmates, or even online resources. Forming study groups can also be really beneficial.
Stay Organized: Keep track of all your assignments and due dates. Use a planner or an app to manage your time effectively and ensure you’re focusing on what’s due soonest.
Stay Positive: A positive mindset can really help you stay motivated. Remember that getting back up to B’s is definitely possible with some focused effort!
Focus on Current Material: In addition to catching up, make sure you keep up with current assignments and tests. Staying on top of new material will help your overall grade.
If you stay proactive and communicate with your teachers, you should be able to make significant progress. Good luck! You’ve got this!
