Can i graduate with half of geometry done (Georgia)

Can I graduate in Georgia if I’ve only completed part of my geometry course?

I’m in a situation where I still need to finish Geometry Part B in order to graduate, but I’m wondering if there’s any way I can fulfill my requirements without completing that specific course. Could I possibly take an elective to earn the necessary credit, or is it mandatory for me to finish Part B?

Additionally, would my brain injury be a valid reason to seek exemptions in this case?

  1. In Georgia, students typically need a specific number of math credits, including Geometry, to meet graduation requirements. If you have completed part A of Geometry, you usually need to finish part B to fulfill that requirement. However, there might be options available depending on your situation.

You should reach out to your school counselor to discuss your specific circumstances. They may be able to offer alternatives, such as credit recovery options, taking a different course that satisfies the math requirement, or enrolling in a tutoring program to help you complete Geometry part B.

As for your mention of brain damage, schools often have accommodations and support for students with disabilities, but it’s best to consult with your school’s special education department or guidance counselor to see what documentation and processes would be necessary to explore that route.

It’s important to have an open conversation with your school about your concerns and find a pathway that works for you. Good luck!
