Do I switch my english teacher?

Should I consider changing my English teacher?

Hey everyone, I’m a high school student, and I had a rough start on my first day of class—I was late, which has never happened to me before. I was really upset about it and even cried on my way to class. Now I’m worried that my teacher’s first impression of me is going to be a negative one, and I’m afraid it will affect my grades. I’m thinking about switching classes, but I know that could be complicated. What should I do?

  1. It’s completely understandable to feel upset about being late on your first day, but try not to be too hard on yourself. Everyone has off days, and your teacher will likely understand that. Instead of switching classes, consider reaching out to your teacher. You could explain what happened and express your commitment to doing well in the class. A sincere conversation can help clear the air and show that you’re dedicated, which can make a positive impression.

Switching classes can be a big decision, and it might not necessarily solve your concerns. Give it some time, and see how things go. Often, first impressions can change as the term progresses. Stay focused on your work, and remember that everyone makes mistakes—it’s all part of learning! Plus, building resilience in challenging situations is a valuable skill. If you still feel uneasy after a few weeks, then it might be worth considering a switch, but give yourself a chance to settle in first.
