Does anyone else’s school limit passes?

Is anyone else’s school strict about passes?

In the past, we had a paper system that allowed for only 20-30 passes for the entire semester, which was pretty limiting. This applied to all trips, not just bathroom breaks—lockers, the office, you name it. It was frustrating!

Now, though, things have gotten a bit better. We’re allowed 5 passes each week. So, if you use 2 passes on Monday, you’ll only have 3 available for the rest of the week. Plus, each pass gives you a 5-minute window. This isn’t too bad, unless the bathroom is far away. You really only have about a minute for the actual bathroom visit and washing your hands.

Does anyone else experience this at their school? Just curious!

(EDIT: I meant a total of 20-30 passes for the semester, not per teacher.)

  1. I can totally relate to your experience! It’s frustrating when schools limit passes like that, especially when you have to juggle multiple things like bathroom breaks and locker visits. The old system of having only a few passes for the whole semester sounds way too restrictive.

At my school, we also have a limited number of passes, but luckily, we get a bit more time to use them, which helps a little. However, the pressure of making sure you use them wisely each week can be stressful. It’s not always easy to predict when you’ll need to step out, especially during a busy class.

I definitely agree that the distance to the bathroom can make things even trickier when you only have a short window. I hope your school continues to find ways to improve the pass system, because students definitely need the flexibility to manage their time better!
