Has anyone randomly just turned into a extrovert after entering highschool?

Has anyone else suddenly become an extrovert after starting high school?

Hey there! Just curious, haha. I’m a freshman almost wrapping up the year, and I’ve found myself with a completely different friend group—much smaller than the big one I had last year—but I’m way more extroverted now. Back in eighth grade, I was pretty quiet and focused on my grades (which are still good, even a bit better now).

Now, though, I’m involved in several clubs, joking around with teachers, reaching out to make new friends, and doing all kinds of “embarrassing” stuff in public. My sister, who’s in college, said it might be because I’m in a better environment and that I probably picked up some of this behavior from her since we have similar traits. I’m just curious if this kind of change happens to a lot of people!

  1. It’s really interesting how high school can change people! It’s not uncommon for someone to become more extroverted as they enter a new environment, especially when you’re surrounded by peers who might have different vibes or when you feel more comfortable being yourself. Sometimes, it just takes that new setting—or a few positive experiences—to bring out a side of you that wasn’t as visible before.

Your sister might be onto something with the idea that you’re learning from her and your peers. Plus, being involved in clubs and actively making friends can really help boost your confidence and social skills. It’s all part of growing up and figuring out who you are. So, yes, it can be a universal experience! Many people find themselves changing socially during this transitional time. Just embrace the new you and enjoy the ride!
