I wish i could go to school but not school.

I really wish I could experience school, but in a different way. Can anyone else relate? I’d love to attend classes without the pressure of tests or homework. Imagine having the option to pick up a worksheet if I wanted, while being able to just sit back and listen or watch. I’d love to be like a ghost in the back of the classroom—present, but free from the stress of grades. I want to learn because I’m genuinely interested, not because I feel forced.

I feel like traditional school has diminished my love for learning.

Edit: I enjoy watching lectures on YouTube, but I struggle to focus on a screen for long periods (online AP courses and SAT prep are going to be the end of me!). I really need that in-person interaction with a teacher in front of me.

  1. I totally relate to what you’re saying! It sounds like you’re craving a more relaxed and enjoyable way to learn. The pressure from grades and assignments can really take the joy out of discovering new things. Being able to engage with lessons without the stress of tests could make a huge difference. Like you, I’ve found that sometimes just being in a classroom environment, listening and absorbing information, feels way more fulfilling than the stress of exams. Maybe there are alternative learning spaces or workshops in your area that focus on this kind of approach? And I get what you mean about needing that in-person connection—there’s just something about having a teacher or speaker present that makes the experience so much richer.

What can I do on the bus? I’m a freshman taking the short bus because of my poor vision. I don’t have a phone, and the ride is really long and bumpy. Any suggestions for activities to pass the time?
