I’m trying to move to Japan

I’m looking to move to Japan!

Hi everyone! I’m planning on relocating to Japan to teach English, and I’ve found out that I need a TEFL certification and a bachelor’s degree. Since there are no specific requirements for the type of degree, I’m curious to know which bachelor’s programs are the most cost-effective. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  1. It’s great to hear that you’re looking to move to Japan and work as a teacher! When it comes to a cost-efficient bachelor’s degree, here are a few options you might consider:

    1. Education: A degree in education can often be less expensive, especially if you attend a community college or a public university. Plus, it aligns well with your goal of teaching.

    2. Liberal Arts: Degrees in liberal arts are typically versatile and can often be found at lower-cost institutions. This path also encourages critical thinking and communication skills, which are valuable as a teacher.

    3. English or Communications: If you’re focused on teaching English, a degree in English or communications can be beneficial and might be offered at an affordable rate.

    4. Online Degrees: Many accredited universities offer online degrees that can be more cost-effective than traditional on-campus programs. You might find a program that aligns with your interests and budget.

    5. Community College: Starting with a two-year degree at a community college and then transferring to a four-year institution could save you a lot in tuition costs.

Be sure to research universities that offer affordable programs and check for online options as well. Additionally, look into scholarships or government grants that may help reduce costs further. Good luck with your plans to move to Japan!
