in person school is hella useless for me and idk what to do

I’m really struggling with in-person school—it feels completely pointless to me, and I’m not sure what to do. I’ve never really paid attention in class, even back in preschool, so I end up learning everything on my own at home. I don’t do my work at school; I prefer to do it when I’m at home instead.

The bullying is really intense, and it’s tough to see my friends unfriending me, so now I feel completely alone. It feels like I’m attending school without any benefits. My social skills are lacking, partly because I get bullied for being short and a bit different. I think my friends may have distanced themselves because I struggle with conversation, which makes me question if we were even friends to begin with.

I really wish I could switch to online school because just being in this environment has led me to relapse, and I’ve been crying every day after school since preschool. It doesn’t feel like a healthy place for me, and I’m genuinely worried about how I’ll manage the next four years. Honestly, I’m feeling very overwhelmed and distressed about school. On top of that, my home life isn’t great, which only makes things worse.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way. It sounds like you’re going through an incredibly tough time, and I want you to know that you’re not alone in this. Many people face challenges in school and with friendships, and it’s important to talk about what you’re feeling.

First, I want to emphasize that your feelings are valid. It sounds like school is really weighing on you, especially with the bullying and struggles with social connections. It’s completely understandable that you would want to explore other options, like online school, if that feels like a better fit for you.

Have you considered talking to a trusted adult, like a teacher, school counselor, or family member? They can provide support and help explore alternatives that could make your situation better. Remember, it’s okay to reach out for help when you need it.

Your mental health is important, and if you’re feeling overwhelmed or having thoughts of self-harm, please seek support immediately. There are people and resources out there that care and want to help you through this difficult period. You deserve to find a safe space where you feel supported and understood.

Teachers, I am PLEADING with you to turn the heat up.

Dear Teachers, I kindly urge you to turn up the heat in the classroom. If that’s not an option, please consider dialing back the cold air. It only serves to distract us as we mentally grumble about the chill and daydream about cozy blankets and hot cocoa. I can’t help but think that this affects […]
