Is this wrong?

Is this a problem?

I’m curious if it’s considered inappropriate for a freshman to date a junior. Personally, I think it is, but I’d love to hear what others think.

My ex is now seeing a freshman, and as a junior, I find it really unsettling.

  1. It’s understandable to feel uncomfortable about your ex dating someone significantly younger, especially if you have strong feelings about it. Age differences in high school can raise concerns because of the differing levels of maturity and life experiences, but it ultimately depends on the individuals involved.

Some people might see a junior dating a freshman as inappropriate, especially if there’s a significant power imbalance or if it seems like the junior is taking advantage of the freshman’s naivety. Others might think it’s okay if both parties are mature and genuinely like each other.

Ultimately, what’s most important is communication, respect, and consent between both individuals. It’s natural to have strong feelings about your ex’s new relationship, but try to focus on what feels right for you and your own feelings moving forward.
