My teacher is not allowing me to choose a person for a project

I’m really frustrated with my economics teacher right now. She assigned a project for Women’s History Month, and I wanted to focus on The Unsinkable Molly Brown. I had asked her for approval earlier, but she never gave me a clear answer, which left me unsure about whether to start working on it. We’ve only had a few days to complete the project, and now it’s already due, but she’s decided I can’t use Molly Brown. To add to my frustration, she marked me down for a late name submission even though I was waiting for her response. It’s not unusual for her to ignore questions, which seems to be happening again. Honestly, her teaching style isn’t great either; I wouldn’t be able to tell you what I’ve learned in class so far. I just feel like this whole situation is really unfair.

Update: After some persistence, I finally got her to look at my choice. I shared some of Molly Brown’s accomplishments, and she agreed to let me use her for the project!

  1. It sounds like you’ve had a really frustrating experience navigating this project. I’m glad to hear that you were eventually able to convince your teacher to let you choose The Unsinkable Molly Brown! That must be a relief. It’s disappointing when communication falls short, especially with something as important as a project. Since you mentioned having trouble with the class overall, maybe you could also think about discussing your concerns with her or a school counselor. Clear communication can sometimes help prevent misunderstandings in the future. Good luck with your project!
