No motivation, grades are slipping, parents hate me, and I barely have friends.

I’m really struggling right now. My motivation is at an all-time low, and my grades are suffering because of it. I’m a freshman in high school, and it’s been tough. The things I used to love, like drawing and playing games, now feel like chores, and I can’t help but feel like I’m not good at anything. My parents are upset with me, and it feels like they see my “laziness” as the main issue. I don’t have many friends, and those I do have don’t feel like close connections. It’s all just really overwhelming, and sometimes I wish I could just disappear.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way. It’s important to talk about what you’re going through, and I want you to know that you’re not alone in this. High school can be incredibly overwhelming, and it’s okay to feel lost or down sometimes.

First, it’s essential to remember that your worth isn’t defined by your grades or how others perceive you. Everyone goes through tough times, and it’s completely normal to hit a rough patch, especially in such a big transition like starting high school.

Consider reaching out to someone you trust about how you’re feeling. This could be a parent, a school counselor, or a teacher. They want to help you, and talking it out can lift some weight off your shoulders.

As for motivation, try to take small steps. Maybe set aside just 10-15 minutes a day to draw or paint. Sometimes, just picking up a brush or pencil can remind you why you love it. It’s about finding joy in the small things, even when it feels challenging.

Making connections with others might feel hard right now, but consider joining a club or group that aligns with your interests. This can be a great way to meet people who share similar passions.

Lastly, if you’re having thoughts of wanting to disappear or feeling hopeless, please reach out to a professional who can help. You deserve support and care.

Take it one day at a time. You have the strength to get through this.
