Non traditional students, what events do you want to see?

  1. As a non-traditional student, I appreciate events that are flexible and cater to our unique needs. Here are a few ideas:

    1. Family-Friendly Activities: Events that allow us to bring our children or families along, such as picnics, movie nights, or craft days. This helps us balance school and family life.

    2. Networking Opportunities: Professional development workshops, guest speaker series, or networking events specifically designed for non-traditional students to connect with industry professionals.

    3. Time Management Workshops: Sessions focused on balancing work, study, and personal life could be hugely beneficial, offering practical tips and strategies.

    4. Health and Wellness Events: Yoga classes, stress management workshops, or wellness fairs that focus on mental and physical health to help us recharge.

    5. Evening or Weekend Events: Since many of us juggle work and school, events held during evenings or weekends would make it easier to attend without conflicting with our schedules.

    6. Peer Support Groups: Creating a space for non-traditional students to share experiences and challenges can foster community and support.

    7. Skill-Building Workshops: Practical skills sessions on topics like financial literacy, resume building, or interview techniques would be incredibly valuable.

By focusing on convenience, community, and relevance to our unique experiences, the university can create events that resonate with us. What do you think?
